Well I Was Driving The 154 Me and my good man Had to settle a score Back in town there Can't show our face Yeah, but out here well ain't no one gonna be safe Yeah, but out here well ain't no one gonna be safe. Well, with one too many enemies You'd be in our shoes With no more options Well up the pass we flew But just as we turned off Up there was a truck And we knew we were straight out of luck Yeah, we knew we were straight out of luck, now. Well, we stepped outta the car Bout to make our stand But before I fired They shot me in the hand My friend, still standing Got blown thru the face I ran to the driver's side Made my escape And I floored that fucker Like I was in a nighttime race The boys, they hopped in the truck And they tried to give me chase But out here There ain't no way Yeah out here There just ain't no way, no.
2.
Desensitized That's what they call it But I don't know If that's really fair Do I feel For the times unaccounted Uncounted For the way I feel? There ain't no way That I can explain it Yeah all of them Well they'd be too scared It's not like I'm in some kind of movie I just want my friends to stay alive. Well, I hope it's not too late I'm running on borrowed time For this heart of mine Yeah, for this heart of mine Well, I hope it's not too late I'm running on borrowed time For this heart of mine Yeah, for this heart of mine. Well, the oak trees shake and wander While the morning fog rolls in The boy I saw last Thursday Staggered up to where I'd been Don't think I'll introduce myself Got things to do instead Yeah, Butterfly has got to learn Why I keep him out his head I'll take him up to the castle The one they used to say Would get just one brick stronger With every passing day They castle was well founded Stood tall for many years But nowadays its stories told To stoke them children's fears. Well, I hope it's not too late I'm running on borrowed time For this heart of mine Yeah, for this heart of mine Come on now.

Well, it doesn't rain much where the oak trees grow Think about the things that you used to know Much too young when you lost your soul Couldn't find any innocence Best to try again I know Well I used known by a different name Remind me why you went and called me insane I know that you're scared but I'm glad you came Couldn't see past the evidence Well, things have changed I know Coming out here in a four wheel drive But you're staying out late now Don't even try If you stick around bet you'll find out why Keep up with the circumstance Don't be left behind No, no, no Said keep up with the circumstance Don't be left behind No, no, no

Take a look at your hand now Do you see a queen of spades? If not best to wait for another day If you find a good deal here Don't wait till the sun may rise Good fortune tends to come and go Like the evening tide. It's best to keep on rolling Down the road Don't you cry now Let me ease your load Keep on rolling Down the road And don't you cry now, no don't you cry Let me ease your load Well, let me ease your load. My father, once he told me Son, don't you get too down If you play your cards right Good things will come around Keep some cash in your pocket Cause once you spend it, it's gone And save your sorrows For when you're big and strong. It's best to keep on rolling Down the road Don't you cry now Let me ease your load Keep on rolling Down the road And don't you cry now, no don't you cry Let me ease your load Well, let me ease your load.

Sun Dial 03:50
Well, I look across the sun dial Feel the breeze blow thru my hair I haven't seen my home in many years I've been up and down these mountains And I couldn't save my soul But I just seen another who's not too lost See, a car passed by last Thursday A driver and his friends But I was much too far to say hello Yeah Bear was close, got there first We'd met the night before I said as long as you leave the boy we'll be all straight. Well, I found him in the morning Bit confused on where he'd been I took him to the spot where I'd first wept I think I'll take some care of him In him I see myself But Bear still has a lesson he's yet to learn Well, then again these roads go long He's got some time to think His mind can't confine him to himself Yeah I'll meet him at the ending And a couple spots up in between But otherwise it's best he's left alone. Well I know just where I'll take him From the valleys to the peak I think he'll be a new man when I'm done If I'd had someone like me To show me to myself Well I wouldn't be out here all alone. He'll thank me when it's over I would've done the same A brother isn't just the one you've got at home He'll never love another Till he learns to love himself I'll take him to the river, I hope he'll drink Said I'll take him to the river, I hope he'll drink Yeah, I'll take him to the river I'll take him to the river I'll take him to the river, I hope he'll drink I hope he'll drink.

I see you found The spot my best friend died Can you see him smile, Can you see him smile back at you? Trespasser, I saw I Saw you come here And you won't be leaving, no Till I get thru to you No you won't, no you won't No you won't, no you won't No you won't, no you won't No you won't, no you won't No you won't, no you won't No you won't, no you won't No you won't, no you won't No you won't, no you won't

There was a day I saw a good friend of mine Shot down right before my own eyes Tell me How many needles Does it take a bring a good man down? Well, last time he disappeared I don't know what he found. Come stand on the hillside Feel the cool breeze blow thru your hair And tell me all the stories you aren't allowed to share Some call it a window Some call it a way to live I call it just one more day The last inch I'll ever give Oh, I'll ever give. I keep blowing my mind out But I find it's just one more day Some time, I hope it'll all go away Come see how I've suffered From what they told me was wrong One day I'll wake up and it'll all be gone. Come see the condor Fly thru the California sky Don't you wish you could say goodbye? Some call it a window Some call it a way to live I call it just one more day The last inch I'll ever give Oh, I'll ever give. That I'll ever give That I'll ever give That I'll ever give.

I took him to a clearing I'd once called my home He sat down and cried After all that he'd been shown The warm summer breeze Blew a heartfelt goodbye As I left him there To rebuild his new mind And I watched him go, Oh I watched him go For here in the mountains We don't get any snow. I lay down on the hillside That's where I rest my bones I sat down to sing After all that I'd been shown The warm summer breeze Blew a heartfelt goodnight As I laid down there To finally ease my mind And I heard the warm wind blow And I heard the warm wind blow For out here in the mountains We don't get any snow No, no, no No, no, no No, no, no No, no, no.

about

This is my fourth full-length album, picking up where "In the Hills of California" left off. It marks a significant stylistic change from my previous work, with much more country and blues influences. This album is the first concrete introduction into the overarching story behind my music.
